A soft tweed of merino wool, alpaca and viscose with small flecks of colour in the fibre: it gives garments a rustic look without the itch.

What it's for

Cardigans, waistcoats and jumpers with textured stitches. The tweed flecks do the work of a pattern: even a plain garment has texture.

How many balls

Adult jumper, size M: 9 to 10 balls. Adult waistcoat: 5 to 6. These are rough figures: always check the pattern.

Pairs with

It belongs to group B, like Merino Extra Fine and Cotton Merino, and works with patterns written for them. It looks great with plain Merino Extra Fine colours for collars and cuffs.

Care

Hand wash at 30 °C maximum and dry flat. Every 3 washes, Sfeltro helps keep the wool soft.

About this yarn

DROPS Soft Tweed is, like its name implies, a soft tweed yarn, made from a combination of merino wool, superfine alpaca and viscose. The yarn is constructed by carding these fibers together with small felted “tweed buttons” that add speckles of colour to define the look of this quality. Being a carded yarn means that DROPS Soft Tweed is lighter and breathes better than similar, combed yarns - while being specially suited for hand knitting.

Rustic and elegant, this yarn is easy to knit and results in beautiful, even stitches. A great choice for textured patterns, slipovers, sweaters and jackets - DROPS Soft Tweed is a great fit for patterns designed in DROPS Karisma, DROPS Lima and DROPS Merino Extra Fine (Yarn Group B).
