A fine, soft merino that goes in the washing machine: the yarn we recommend most for baby clothes and for light adult garments worn next to the skin.

What it's for

Baby cardigans and jumpers, cot blankets, hats and fine adult jumpers. Stitches come out crisp, so it works beautifully for colourwork and textured stitches. For crochet, use a 3 mm hook.

How many balls

Adult jumper, size M: 7 to 8 balls. Baby cardigan: 3 to 4. These are rough figures: always check the pattern.

It belongs to DROPS yarn group A, like Alpaca, Fabel and Safran: at the same tension, they can replace each other in patterns. Two strands of group A held together give the thickness of group C.

Care

Machine wash at 40 °C on a gentle cycle, no fabric softener, and dry flat. Knit slightly tighter than usual so your tension matches.

DROPS Baby Merino is spun from fibers from free-range, mulesing free animals from South America and is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified. The yarn is also superwash treated and therefore machine washable and suitable for everyday use; but when washing your garments you must be extra careful and follow closely the care instructions.
