Brushed alpaca with silk: a featherlight yarn with a fluffy halo that is very warm for its weight. Each ball is 25 g and 140 metres.
What it's for
Light, airy jumpers on 5 mm needles, shawls and cowls. The halo hides the stitches and makes it hard to unpick, so if you are a beginner, knit calmly and count carefully.
How many balls
Adult jumper, size M, with the yarn on its own: 7 to 8 balls. Cowl: 2 to 3. These are rough figures: always check the pattern.
Pairs with
It belongs to group C, like Nepal and Alaska. Held together with another yarn, such as Alpaca or Merino Extra Fine, it adds a fluffy halo and extra warmth.
Care
Hand wash at 30 °C maximum and dry flat. To lift the halo again, give the garment a shake once it is dry.
